We're delighted to share that PLACED Academy has won the Social Impact Award at the Insider Liverpool City Region Property Awards, recognising the impact of the programme and our commitment to creating more inclusive opportunities across the built environment sector.
PLACED Academy is our free-to-access programme supporting young people aged 11–25 from across the Liverpool City Region to develop skills, build confidence and explore careers in the built environment. Now in its seventh year, the programme continues to grow in both reach and impact, providing a pathway of opportunities that breaks down barriers to the sector and supports young people from all backgrounds to realise their potential.
As a small social enterprise, collaboration is at the heart of what we do, and this award is a testament to the collective effort that makes PLACED Academy possible. The programme relies on the generosity, expertise and commitment of organisations and individuals from across the built environment sector. We're incredibly grateful to everyone who supports our work, including Cityheart, Avison Young, Sutcliffe and Brabners, many of whom joined us at the awards ceremony.
By working together, we're able to deliver meaningful, sustainable social impact, opening up opportunities for young people while helping the sector develop and retain its future talent.
This collaborative approach extends to our wider work at PLACED. Through our engagement and community voice projects, we support people from diverse backgrounds to have a meaningful say in shaping the towns, cities and neighbourhoods around them. As a social enterprise, any surplus generated through this work is reinvested directly into PLACED Academy, enabling us to expand the programme, develop new opportunities and test innovative approaches to supporting young people.
Winning this award is a wonderful recognition of what we can achieve together. We were proud to be shortlisted alongside so many excellent organisations delivering important work across the Liverpool City Region, and we'd like to congratulate everyone recognised on the night!
A huge thank you to our partners, supporters, volunteers and, of course, the young people who make PLACED Academy what it is. This award belongs to all of you!
We're excited to build on this success, creating more opportunities for young people and helping to shape a more inclusive future for our region.
