Kim is passionate about community engagement in the built environment, with a particular interest in heritage, place identity and sustainability. She sits on the board of directors for the Cannington Shaw Preservation Trust CIC, working to regenerate the historic No.7 Bottle Shop, and runs her own online platform – St. Helens Heritage Society – engaging local people with the rich heritage around them. She also has experience working in museum settings, where she has helped curate exhibitions, organise events and deliver guided heritage tours.
Her interest in place and identity stems from her time at Edge Hill University, where she studied Geography. Her undergraduate dissertation explored the industry and place identity of St. Helens, sparking a lasting commitment to supporting people to understand and shape the places they live.
Kim joined PLACED in 2022 as a Project Coordinator. She is passionate about helping people engage with the built environment – to build better places together.
