Beckie is passionate about design as a catalyst for social change, and believes communities should be at the heart of shaping the spaces they use. She has worked with the National Citizen Service, leading and supporting groups of young people, and is committed to using design as a tool for empowerment and place-based growth.

Beckie has experience working as an architectural assistant within an urban design team in Nottingham, with a firm specialising in heritage and conservation. Her approach as a designer is grounded in an end-user focus, shaped by a strong interest in how architecture impacts communities.

She completed the PLACED Easter School in 2017 and went on to study Architecture at Loughborough University, where her dissertation focused on the reuse of vacant buildings in Liverpool as a homelessness provision. Beckie joined the PLACED team in 2023 as a Project Assistant, bringing together her architectural background and commitment to inclusive, community-led design.
