Amy is a researcher, educator and community organiser with a background in art history, academia and socially engaged practice. Her PhD at Liverpool John Moores University focused on urban socially engaged art, exploring how the urban environment can act as a site of critical and creative engagement.

She has taught at both LJMU and Liverpool Hope University and previously worked for a university access charity, delivering art history and contemporary art sessions in secondary schools across Merseyside. In her most recent role, Amy worked as a community organiser in Knowsley, supporting parent and carer communities to respond to educational inequality and local challenges.

Amy joined the PLACED team in 2022. She brings her research background and hands-on experience working with young people and communities to her role, and is passionate about ensuring community voices are included in conversations about the urban built environment.
